Testimonials
Tree Top has partnered with Wesley Associates to manage our unsaleables program since the late 1990s. Since that time, our percentage of spoils to sales has been consistently well below national average. Tatyana regularly identifies and communicates billing discrepancies and concerns to us. Most billing problems are resolved within 1 or 2 billing cycles, allowing us to quickly receive repayments. Most importantly, billing problems get fixed quickly. At our monthly conference calls we discuss strategies for customer repays, new and discontinued items, pricing changes, and other customer policy and pricing issues. Wesley Associates coordinates regular reclamation center inspections that allow our packaging and operations team to better understand potential opportunities and also lets our customers know that we care enough to make on-site visits. The comprehensive annual report that we receive from Wesley Associates is used by Tree Top Packaging, Operations, Logistics, Sales and Trade Marketing. Cynthia, Glenn, and their team are truly unsaleables experts!

Seneca Foods has been associated with Wesley Associates since 2003. Initially, they did extensive work to evaluate our existing unsaleable program and recommended changes. Under their direction, Seneca Foods totally rewrote our policy and they helped communicate these changes to our customers. Wesley Associates has been providing oversight and expertise to our branded goods unsaleable program for the 8 year period following the initial evaluation. While their primary goal is monitoring our unsaleables claims for billing errors and increases in volume, the results of capturing this data also enables them to supply us with performance reports at the customer, brand and even item level. With their help, we posted our lowest spoils rate since we’ve been tracking it and this year alone, they’ve already spotted $8,000 in billing errors that have been recouped. I would recommend them as a solution for any unsaleable needs.

At Nestle, we use Wesley Associates to help manage our unsaleables program. They monitor trends, outliers, and financial issues for us so we can spend more of our time working directly with customers to reduce unsaleables. It’s nice knowing that the team at Wesley is keeping an eye on things for us and taking care of issues in the background.

We have been working with Wesley Associates for three years and have been impressed from the beginning with their attention to detail and communication skills. They assemble the reclamation detail in a presentation that our sales people can easily understand and use to work with our customers to reduce the overall expenses. Their interaction with our customers has been very professional. Our overall reclamation percentage has been reduced and we look forward to a continued relationship.

In the late 1990s, Tree Top spoils/reclamation costs were increasing annually at double-digit rates. After careful consideration, the decision was made to partner with Wesley Associates to manage CPG unsaleables. An Unsaleables Cost Reduction Plan was put into place and the first step was to distribute and gain acceptance for a newly adopted JIR corporate unsaleables policy. The new policy proved to be an effective tool for managing unsaleables. While the GMA national unsaleables rate steadily increased and or flattened over the past decade, Tree Top’s unsaleables rate steadily declined and settled in well below the national rate. With Wesley Associates tracking Tree Top’s unsaleable claims in their WEScan database, we always know the products with the highest rate of unsaleables as well as the customers and sales regions with the greatest percentage of spoils. Wesley monitors customers on policy to insure they correctly invoice accordingly to the agreement. Their weekly audits help to identify potential policy abuses or billing errors, which enables us to quickly communicate those concerns, often resulting with repays or other suitable resolution.

Wesley and Associates has been a provider to QTG, a division of PepsiCo, for the past 10 years. Their quality of work in auditing our reclamation invoices has been outstanding. They continue to provide a superior level of knowledge within the Unsaleables arena. They excel in customer service and anticipating customer requests. I look forward to continuing utilizing Wesley’s services for many more years and would certainly recommend their services to other CPG companies.

A customer invoice was found to have an unusually high amount of a particular Birds Eye product. It was so unusual for this customer that the Account Manager at Wesley Associates felt it could be some type of scanning/electronic error. Wesley Associates promptly contacted the customer, who verified that the quantity was incorrect and then contacted their reclamation center. It was found that the reclamation center had a computer glitch which caused the invoice to show 2,402 units returned when actually there were only 2 units returned. Wesley Associates collected $2,300 within a week on this supply chain issue and the customer corrected the glitch, preventing this scenario from happening over and over again.
Now , this is why we have a third party audit partner!! I ask our folks, “do you think WE would have ever caught this” ???? Great work!
